use this fitting to save money on shipping. for those of you whom are not within driving distance of us in clearwater, florida and don't want to pay a crazy amountto ship a 12' aluminum wand, you can buy two 6' wands or two 5' aluminum, coated steel or stainless steel wands and connect them together using this fitting and some threadlock or liquid teflon (never use teflon tape).
